Applied ageing research by IARA at the Carinthia University of Applied Sciences, Austria

At the Institute for Applied Research on Ageing (IARA) of the Carinthia University of Applied Sciences, research on the topic of ageing is networked across disciplines in order to take account of the challenges and potential of an ageing society. To this end, three departments are working on the changing living environments of older people, on technical support possibilities and on the economic framework conditions. On the one hand, current findings and trends about ageing processes are collected, analysed and processed so that this knowledge can be made available to politics, business and civil society. On the other hand, IARA promotes in particular application-oriented and transdisciplinary approaches through its own projects.
