Research on ageing in the light of the economy and demography

The Department for Demographic Change and Regional Development (DCRD) of the Institute for Applied Research on Ageing (IARA) focuses on research into the effects and interactions of population ageing and migration movements from a (macro-)economic perspective. The DCRD research team concentrates mainly on the research areas labour market, consumption and the economy as a whole. We investigate which economic policy measures can be taken to meet the challenges associated with an ageing population and aim to identify growth potentials for ageing regions.
