On 7 April 2026, IARA hosted the Inclusive & User Centred Shared Charging Workshop at Carinthia University of Applied Sciences in Villach as part of the Shared Charging project. The project partners met to explore how Electric Vehicle (EV) charging can become more inclusive, accessible, and better integrated into everyday parking environments – with a strong focus on real user needs and usability.
Advancing shared charging and accessible charging solutions
The key topics addressed in the workshop included:
- Accessibility barriers & User Experience (UX) pain points
- Diverse user perspectives and personas
- Vehicle usage patterns, parking duration & charging windows
- Evaluation of current charging solutions
- Partner system snapshots and joint discussion of practical concepts
Great, solution-oriented exchange
The discussions among all project partners were highly interactive, collaborative and solution-oriented – generating many relevant insights and concrete impulses for the next steps as well as creating valuable momentum and shared understanding across all participants.
