The second project phase of AliVe focused on testing the micro-credential pilots developed in the first project phase and on examining the feasibility of age-inclusive lifelong learning opportunities. The second project phase, thus, consisted of national micro-credential pilots and stakeholder focus groups as well as an investigation into lifelong learning frameworks and legislation that are in place in each of the four participating countries.

By the end of the second project phase, each contributing higher education institution had collected a host of data on country-specific findings and frameworks regarding micro-credentials in particular and lifelong learning in general. All data were written up in national reports, which were then analysed and compared. In the next project phase, the results of this analysis and transnational comparison will be used as the starting point for the first draft of guidelines on the design of micro-credentials for older learners.
