To delve deeper into local characteristics and needs regarding age-inclusive lifelong learning and micro-credentials, the second phase of the AliVe project also included focus group discussions with stakeholders from the field of lifelong learning. The AliVe country teams organised one focus group each, all of which followed the same structure and content.

Topics in the spotlight were:

  • Needs of organisations regarding micro-credentials
  • Content and structure of micro-credentials that suit the needs of older learners
  • Barriers and challenges for older learners in making use of micro-credentials
  • Support by and collaboration among organisations
  • The future of micro-credentials

Focus group participants were experts from a variety of backgrounds, among them representatives from civic institutions, higher education institutions, private organisations, public services, NGOs and ministries.
