Completed: AliVe Guidelines in Four Languages

From its inception in the autumn of 2023, the AliVe project pursued one major goal: To investigate how lifelong learning opportunities can be made more accessible, meaningful, and inclusive for older people – and to turn all project findings into guidelines collected in the form of a handbook.

With the project coming to a close at the end of August 2026, the project consortium from Austria, Czechia, Finland, and Ireland is now proud to present the AliVe Guidelines for Lifelong Learning and Micro-Credentials. The guidelines/handbook are available in German, Czech, Finnish, and English. They can be read directly on this website and also downloaded from there as PDF documents.

The handbook examines lifelong learning from four perspectives:

  1. Older people
  2. Higher education institutions and organisations
  3. Facilitators
  4. The policy level and social structures

The aim is to provide readers with new ideas, insights, guidelines, and concrete tools for planning and implementing lifelong learning.

Once again, the consortium wants to give HEARTFELT THANKS to the kind people who shared their experiences and needs regarding lifelong learning with us over the past three years. The handbook, and indeed the project, could not have been completed without them.
